Today I managed to wash Heldar (though my coat dryer decided to suicide...) and we made some really nice stacked pictures, both outside the house and during one of our city walks.

Finally the sun has come out... unfortunately the wind is still harsh, but it's better than the past days.
Lucky coincidence, in these days we're keeping the lovely HELDAR here at home with us, so the owners can have a small break... ;-) It's always a joy to have hjim around, and he loves to play with his mom and sisters.

Saturday we arrived in Ljubljana, to attend a double show, CACIB in the morning and the 19th Sighthound Specialty, organized by the Slovenian Club for Sighthounds, in the evening.

Looking at the day as a whole I will say that it has been a very nice, and I had occasion to meet a lot of friends that I didn't see in a while.

The morning show was judged by Andreja Novak (Ninochka's Borzois)
Hiba achieved exc1, JCAC, Junior Winner, JBOS.

Her judgement critique:

"15 months old, beautiful head and expression, correct bite, very good top line, chest still needs to develop, correct front and rear angulation, good feet, nice long tail, good mover coming and going and from side."

Can't say I was so satisfied for the specialty show, but anyway it was a very nice day, and at the club show Borzois had a special prize offered by Ninochka's Borzois! Hvala lepa Andreja Novak!

MEET US!! CACIB Ljubljana (SLO)

Ok, 2011 is over, but we're ready to start the new show year with enthusiasm! Unmissable date for us is the triple Ljubljana show. On Saturday there will be a CACIB + Special show, and Sunday another CACIB.

So I hope to meet many friends there, since entries for borzois are really big, considering the past years: 18 (10-8) for Saturday's CACIB, 23 (!!) for the Specialty Show and 13 (9+4) for Sunday's show.

So all that's left to say is good luck to all exhibitors and may the best one win!

CACIB Celje WINTER WINNER 2011 (SLO) - 17/12/11

What better way to end the year than this?

We travelled early in the morning (with heavy snow during the first part of our journey) to attend the last show of the year, the International Dog Show Celje Winter Winner 2011. Unfortunately Bagrijana was left at home, but we were quite a pack nonetheless, with me, my mother, Hiba the borzoi, Diana the wolfdog and the lovely Saphira, a welsh corgi pembroke entrusted to us by her owner.

The show ground was very good and the day was fantastic. A big thank you to all the friends and people who made this day special.

WHAT ELSE COULD I WANT FOR MY BIRTHDAY?

Well, yesterday was my birthday and I passed such a nice day with my family and my dogs, relaxing. Receiving so many greetings from my firneds and family was one of the best things od the day, so I'd wish to thank everyone one of you who supported me, helped me when I needed a shoulder to lean on, bore my terrible character even in the worst situations, had fun with me during happy, sunny days, and people who simply were there for me.

I also received this beautiful Birthday Card from Marit Folgero, Le Sphinx Borzoi. Thank you Marit!

(Marit was also the designer for our ad in the Borzoi International Fall Issue... check out the Borzoi International website for more info on the magazine and on Marit's sensational ads!)

But the best part of the day was an unexpected birthday present... HELLA'S CHAMPION CERTIFICATE arrived by mail yesterday!! Now she's officially SLOVENIAN JUNIOR CHAMPION!

Congratulations Hella!! We're all so proud of you!!

ZAGREB WINTER SHOWS 2011

Since we always had a good time at Croatian dog shows, we decided to attend once again the Zagreb Winter Shows. This time we had a larger pack with us.
The shows started with the evening specialty for group X organized by Klub Hrtova Zagreb. It was nice to see all our friends from far and near, and the atmosphere was really great!

This year's judge was Mrs. Wieslawa Misterka-Kluska (PL), borzoi breeder/judge, Kennel Polot. I'd like to thank Kresimir Besedic for these wonderful photos. Hvala Kreso!

Our rising star Ca' Frosco Hiba was exc1, JCAC, Junior Winner, JBOB and JBISS4!! Hiba has fulfilled requirements to become HR JrCH!

Bagrijana was also good, achieving exc2 ResCAC in champion class.

I was also asked to handle Dober-Kopp Crafty Broker in Puppy BISS, and we got the 2 place! Way to go Broker!

But the best part of the show was one of my favorite borzois, Fenomenalnij Fars Wolkowo (owners: Wolkowo Kennel) winning BOB and ResBISS! Congratulations Davor and Helena!

EUROSIGHTHOUND 2011 + ITALIAN SIGHTHOUND AUTUMN CLUB SHOW - 1&2 October

Here we are again, we couldn't miss the yearly appointment with the Sighthound Specialty in Padenghe sul Garda (BS), especially because this year there would have been the EUROSIGHTHOUND too!

Saturday (EUROSIGHTHOUND 2011) Borzois were judged by breeder/judge by Mr. Jean Brixhe (B).
Bagrijana was exc / in open class, Hiba exc / in junior class and Hella, the best show dog of the family, was exc4 in junior class. Ca' Frosco Hakon was exc2 in junior class. Congratulations to the owner!
I must thank very very much my dearest friend Ágnes Balkany (Kennel Triumphator, HU) for taking my place in handling Ca' Frosco Elsie, since I wasn't feeling too well. Köszönet Ágnes!

Sunday (CdL CLUB SHOW) was a day full of surprises. The judge of the day was Mrs. Maggie Holder (GB).
Our puppies were succesful: Ca' Frosco Halina (owner by Stefano Crovi, Antica Carsulae Kennel), showed up in junior class and won exc4! Ca' Frosco Hakon was exc3 in junior class... congratulations to the owners!

But the best part of the day was Bagrijana's judgement. Unfortunately she was feeling too hot and tired, but nonetheless she gave all of herself in the ring for me. Thank you Bagij!! Bagrijana achieved exc1, Class Winner, CAC BB BOS!! Now we miss just one specialty CAC to close the Italian Championship.

Handling was also good, I achieved vg / in males junior class with Dighby (B+O: Gloria Pensa, Russian Spellbound Kennel) and vg2 in females intermediate class with Ca' Frosco Elsie (B: Ca' Frosco Kennel O: Stefano Ghidinelli).

It was a lovely week-end, and it was so nice to meet many of friends.

Wow, what a great week-end! We went with some expectations and we came back more than satisfied!!
The weather, the location and the organization of both shows were really good... and of course I couldn't ask for better company!!

Samobor, saturday, displayed quite a bigger entry for borzois (8!!). We entered CA' FROSCO HIBA in junior class under judge mr. Massimiliano Mannucci (I). Hiba showed herself really great and I'm proud of her and her result:

Junior BOB and BOB was a very very handsome young borzoi, Remedy for Love Bielie Noci. Congratulations!!

But our day is not over yet; after a very long break from the show-ring, our Czechoslovakian Wolfdog AYKA (pet name Diana), came back and ready to win:

Trbovlje, on sunday, was better regarding the temperature... big dark clouds but no rain! ;-) And as for the results, we're very very happy!

What a great surprise I had this week-end at Donaueschingen (D)! Passed a lovely week-end with the Celtic Reenactment Association AES TORKOI at the Celtic Festival "I FOUCHI DI TARANIS" (1-3/7/2011). Well, it surely was quite a difference compared to my usual dog show week-end... the campfire, tents, weapons, costumes... and though this was my first time, the group made me feel completely at ease, including me in the whole aspect of the celtic daily life... THANK YOU!!

Wonderful week-end at the Horse Racetrack of Lesce, near the slovenian city of Bled.

Sunday we went to the International Dog Show Umag (HR), with the borzois. We we entered Bagrijana, Hella and Hiba.
It was a very pleasant day, especially because the weather was good (the forecast said there would have been rain), and of course for our friends who always make these days special.

The breed judge was Luis Catalan (P).
We're very happy for the results:

Wake up with the sun high in the sky, lovely breakfast on the terrace, morning walk by the sea with the doggies... what else would I want from such a wonderful day?

A few days ago I had the ocassion to have a walk in the city with my "four treasures" (it was such a rare view that an entire group of german tourists stopped to look at these big, white dogs... and some even recognized the breed! I knew we had to rely on foreigners to appreciate the borzoi, since here in Trieste there aren't any). Unexpectedly, our plans and dreams have been changed, due to family problems, we cannot keep Hella and Hiba any longer. They are two very lovely and sweet girls, who are starting positively their carreer in the rings, and we're wuite sure their successes will be long-lasting, so they are AVAILABLE TO SHOW HOMES.

So here we are again, Padenghe is one of the few events here in Italy that is very hard NOT to attend: the show ground is just lovely, the company even better (it is a sighthound specialty show+coursing event organized by Club del Levriero) and usually the weather is great! Even this year, though the weather forecast predicted rain almost all day, the weather was sunny, with a bit of clouds, so the dogs could get a bit of shadow too.

We set off early in the morning for Padenghe del Garda, lovely little town where the show was held, with Bagrijana (who luckily decided to start shedding just the day before the show), Hella and Hiba.
This year our breed judge was Alain Campagne (F), and our results were quite impressive:

BAGRIJANA (open class): 1exc ResCAC (over a total of 16 females... 11 in open and 5 in intermediate)

Sweet Helios just turned 6 months old (as the rest of the littermates) ;-) and here are some pictures of free-stacking.

Helios has a lovely character and is very nice both to other dogs and other animals (cats, parrots, etc.).
He weighs approximately 30 kg and his height is 73cm at the withers.

Borzoi Specialty Show at S.Zaccaria (RA) - 25.09.2010

It's always lovely to take part in the Borzoi Specialty Show held at Palazzo Manzoni in S.Zaccaria (RA). This year in was set in September, and we had the honor to be judged by Mrs. Marton-Pollock (Falconcrag).

So early on a Friday morning Elena and I started our journey to Ravenna. We arrived in the afternoon, and since it was still quiet (all the other borzois would have come early in the morning of the following day), we decided to work a bit with the dogs, before it started raining heavily.

Luckily we had an unexpected sunny weather the next day, so even the judge could enjoy a bit of the italian sun. ;-)

Oookayyyy, I really needed some fresh air in these days, since I haven't been out recently. Well, the opportunity came from Elena Bertolini, who asked me to handle her dogs at CAC Venezia.

We went there with quite a handful of 'zois... Elena brought Dobrinja (Bakur Red Fox x Velikij Jalina) in Champion class, Ebony in Junior Class (Arcana x Barghal) and last but not least little Grace (Aistra x Barghal) in Puppy Class.

Unfortunately Ebony decided that he wasn't in the mood for a dog show, because he prefered to run on the beach, so we didn't show him in the end; but the other two girls gave us some big satisfactions.

RETRIEVER WORKING DAY WITH GAME Marmorta di Molinella (BO) - 11.09.2010

We received lovely news from Elena, the owner of our beloved Milky (Golden Retriever - sweets litter).

Since they both did some excellent training on the retriever working trials with their group OASIRETRIEVER, they decided to compete in the WORKING DAYS WITH GAME, near Bologna. Though Milky participated just the first day, everybody was satisfied by his performance, being the first time for him.

He did a great job with the pick-up and return of the dummies, and our golden boy also surprised us with his excellent marking of quails, also with a very good blind retrieve. :-)

What can I say, apart that I'm very proud of Milky and Elena? I just wish to make some big congratulations to this wonderful couple handler/dog, and wishing them the best of luck for future competitions!

Club Show Lotzwill (CH) - 28.08.2010

We received EXCELLENT news both from Elena Bertolini than from our dear friend Regina (form SandSound Kennel). The thing is that our dear Lennox (Le Sphinx Killing Me Softly) was shown at the Swiss Borzoi Club Specialty in Lotwill (CH).

with great happiness, we discovered that Lennox was EXC1 CAC BM BOS and CLUBSIEGER! So now Lennox concluded the SWISS CHAMPION TITLE!! Congratulations to Regina, Frank and Lennox!

Well, our greatest surprise, though, was to discover that also other friends of ours attended the show. In fact, BERETSKA, our Bagrijana's sister, was EXC1 CAC BB BOB!! Congratulations to Elena, the breeder, and Lena, the owner!

Regional ENCI Night Show Barbariga - 10.07.10

After the visit to the G Litter pupppies, me and Elena Bertolini (Ca' Frosco Kennel) decided to do some show training, since there was a regional night show near Brescia.

We brought Ca' Frosco Ebony and his mother Ca' Frosco Arcana; and it was very nice to hear that we were going to be joined there by Stefano, the owner of Ebony's sister, Ca' Frosco Elsie.

The show went pretty well, even tough it was the first night show for our youngsters.

CA' FROSCO G Litter - MALES 4 months old

Me and Elena Bertolini had a full day last Saturday (10th of July 2010).

First of all, we had a very pleasant walk along the river with a few dogs, the two brothers Ca' Frosco Filfil and Fantazija.

In the evening, we went to visit Ca' Frosco's G Litter, which is at the place of the bitch's owner, near Brescia.

Since there are still 2 MALES AVAILABLE, we decided to make a few pictures of all the males (4 in total). These puppies have excellent character and are VERY LIVELY, so it was a challenge for me to stack them correctly. GANDHI and GOBLIN very very good, but I had some difficulties with GORAN and GORDON, so they are prettier than in pictures really. ;-)

Now the puppies are 4 months old.

We finally had the occasion to meet Frank and Regina Turnheer - From SandSound Kennel - and their beautiful 'zois; and I must add that Lennox was very happy to meet us and Bagrijana.

We had a wonderful stay at the small and picturesque village of Stein am Rhein, just half an hour from Frank and Regina's house.

I really hope to post as soon as possible the beautiful pictures of the town and of the wonderful views of sunny Switzerland; but until then I can just post the photos of the two "lovers" ;-)

Finally another dog show!! When I entered my dogs to this show, I was so happy go get back to croatia, especially for 3 reasons:
- all the good friends I meet there
- it was a very nice place, and a very well organized show last year
- the last CACIB for INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP for Bagrijana
We decided to go just on Sunday, so that I couldn't miss school.
Anyway, in the morning we received a call from a friend of ours who asked us to bring her dogs, since she wasn't able to come. Eventually I found myself with 4 dogs to handle:
- Bagrijana (Borzoi)
- Ayka "Diana" (Czechoslovakian Wolfdog)
- Stilling Superfine iz Kaskada Grez "Mishka" (Deutscher Zwergspitz)
- Hrustlanaya Mechta Strela Kupidona "Tata" (Russkiy Toy)
I was very satisfied with the results, since Diana got exc1 CAC; Mishka got exc1, PRM and JBOB; Tata got exc1, CAC, CACIB and BOB.
But the most surprising of all was Bagrijana's result: exc1, CAC, CACIB (now new INT Ch. in homologation)... and BOB!!
